Knee OA is the leading cause of disability and pain among adult and old age populations. An estimated 10 to 15% of all adults older than 60 years have some degree of OA, with prevalence higher among women than men.

The Finutra team had the pleasure of participating in the 2023 Vitafoods exhibition. After three years, we reunited with many valued customers, and it was great to see how everyone has grown and evolved in their business endeavors.

In the randomized, double-blinded crossover study, 11 well-trained male athletes underwent three exhaustive exercise tests after a week of supplementation with a tomato powder, then a lycopene supplement, and then a placebo. Three blood samples (baseline, post-ingestion, and post-exercise) were taken for each of the supplements used, in order to evaluate total antioxidant capacity and variables of lipid peroxidation, such as malondialdehyde (MDA) and 8-isoprostane.

This exhibition was a grand gathering where like-minded professionals from the nutrition, health, and wellness industries came together to share ideas, showcase their products, and make new connections. We were proud to be a part of such an exciting event.
