Knee OA is the leading cause of disability and pain among adult and old age populations. An estimated 10 to 15% of all adults older than 60 years have some degree of OA, with prevalence higher among women than men.

Results of a new study published in the journal Biomed Central BMC showed turmeric extract was as effective as paracetamol in reducing pain and other symptoms of knee osteoarthritis (OA). The study demonstrated the bioavailable compound was more effective in reducing inflammation.

Other newly named protected industries ranged from grocery and pharmacy workers, to food manufacturers and suppliers, to animal and food testing, to sanitation and pest control workers.
The guidance letter specifically notes its recommendations ultimately are advisory in nature, and the list should not be considered a federal directive. Individual jurisdictions can add or subtract essential workforce categories based on their own requirements and discretion.

The study was a follow up to an Arjuna study conducted over a year ago that demonstrated a positive link between its flagship curcumin formulation and osteoarthritic care.
