Tajikistan possesses a unique geographical advantage with its vast mountainous regions, which are home to numerous endemic medicinal plants. However, the local industry for plant extraction has traditionally remained at a primary processing stage, focusing mostly on dried herbs rather than concentrated bioactive compounds.
The current market is witnessing a shift as the demand for functional foods and nutraceuticals rises among the urban population. There is a growing need for standardized herbs extract that can be integrated into modern capsule or powder formulations, moving away from traditional tea-based consumption.
Despite the abundance of raw materials, the lack of advanced industrial spray-drying and supercritical CO2 extraction facilities in the region creates a dependency on imported plant extract powder. This gap presents a significant opportunity for high-tech manufacturing partnerships.
